The Caregivers Worries

The one thing that I have noticed with a bipolar ManChild, is the main differences with the manic vs depression mood swings.

When the ManChild is depressed, he is pretty much easy going, non-argumentative, laid-back with a k-sir-rah attitude (when taking the proper doses of meds that is).  Otherwise, he would be sleeping most of the time and pretty much non-existing.

But when the ManChild is manic, he becomes a major know-it-all, full of over zealous confidence, argues about everything, you can't have a conversation with them because they never let you finish your sentences because they anticipate what you are going to say (basically they can have a conversation all by themselves!) and just generally very difficult to live with and be around. (Thank God for meds that helps to ease some of this when taken properly).

Conclusion for the caregiver... Turn your worries and concerns into prayers!!!  Because that is basically all you have left!!!

With the Return of MANIA

With a Bipolar ManChild, the return of mania is the most difficult to live with.

It involves:

1. The constant interruption, always anticipating what you are going to say before you even say it!
2. The poor lack of judgment and easily swayed by get-rich-schemes.
3. The excess energy with no ambition to do anything that is important, but only to have fun.
4. The lack of sleep. Going from 8-9 hours of sleep per night, to 4-5. Not to mention, keeping you from getting your sleep too!
5. Racing around to do everything, but getting nothing done.
6. Wanting to befriend anyone and everyone, not realizing they may not want anything to do with him.
7. Wanting to spend money he doesn’t have.
8. Becomes a major know-it-all.
9. Thinks very highly of himself. Super man with super ego.
10. Over confident, with poor lack of judgment.
11. Indecisive. They want, want, want, but can't make a decision. Also known as Double-Minded.
12. Makes promises they never have any intention of keeping.
